I Thank God
2
0As i sit back pondering the things that make me, me.
The me I know I am, and the me I strive to be.
I Thank God for giving me the strength to fight this battle,
And the courage to believe I can.
Trust in him completely, that for me he has a plan!

True
0
0Just meeting a couple of times with those dark brown eyes.
I never knew that you would be the one on my mind.
For the short times of different visits,
I never thought that I’d miss it.
Through all of the hugs and kisses,
we finally parted with the best intentions of God’s wishes.
Gifted is he, the king of his own destiny.
Leading the blind to the land of the free.
You are the one in the million man march that reached out and touched my heart.
You put your world aside to listen to all of my cries.
You eased the pain like a baby’s lullaby.
I tip my hat to you.
for all that you do.
For being a man of his word by using the word TRUE.

Try and Try
1
0I have always seen life for what it really is.
Ever since I was a child growing up, hard times are all I know.
I had to sit back and watch my mother work from sunset to sundown.
I had to sit back and watch my mother work herself to her grave.
Nothing ever came easy for her.
She always had a heart and kept a smile on her face.
Life is like a newborn baby struggling to come out of its mother’s womb,
life is a struggle true enough, but after all the struggling you have done,
and after all the hell you have been through, there is success.
Life is nothing but a big struggle, but just keep the faith and focus on your goals.
Don’t let life beat you or you will be walking around like zombies.
Keep on pushing, keep on trying, life can be whatever you make it to be.
But life can also be a bowl of cherries with whip cream and apple pie.
I say this again; life is what you make of it.
You can achieve or conquer anything it throws at you,
you can’t quit or give up, you have got to keep on working,
look higher some way, some how you are going to make it.

Sugar In The Sea
0
0And they too were lifted up
As the promise always said
And the labels that belonged
Are laid to rest and gone
And what happened in the glistening
Was the gentle sweet relief
Now brilliant tiny stars
On the gentle midnight reef
And thoughts and remembrances
Like fire all a glow
Now imprints for our hearts to hold
Of them that had to go
No solitude or singleness
No searching for the calm
No tears and labors emptiness
No hatred to disarm
Desire and all restlessness
Now sugar in the sea
And so, my friend, we wait behind
Till we can be so free

The Person I Long To Be
0
0The day light breaks again
Another day has begun.
But still no sleep has come.
My body is weary
My mind overworked.
I lie awake thinking
But what I am unsure.
I need to break free from the cycle I endure.
Everyday is the same and the nights are undistinguished.
I feel as though I am being pushed along with the tide
Unable to break free from the everyday flow.
This is not me I need to change, before time takes over
And I am unable to change.
I need to be freed from the grasp of ordinary
And become that person I have always longed for.
Express myself in every way, and conquer the dreams as I lie awake.
Then I may fall asleep and put my mind to rest.
Make changes in my life and help those in need.
I would like to touch everyone’s life in a positive way
And leave my mark on society before I fade away.

Life
1
0Life is an ebb and flow of constant changes.
Starting from the existence of a tiny seed
Blooming with hopeful life,
To the springing forth of a being so full of
future promise.
Who continually changes throughout the ever flowing paths of life’s ups and downs!
Changing constantly in form and status
While experiencing awakenings, frustrations, sadnesses, and a gamut of feelings,
Related to disappointments, untimely occurrences, unwanted occurrences, and exciting
occurrences,
Often rarely prepared for the changes to come.
Dealing with the making of new adjustments,
While letting go of the familiarity and comfort of the past.
Knowing that what was so secure yesterday was just a fleeting moment in time.
As we go through life continuing to make adjustments related to life’s happenings,
Seeking to find that inner peace and happiness,
trying to adjust to each step of life’s
never ending changes!

My Role Model
0
0I still remember the first time I saw Her,
She was demonstrating how to block.
I was going into my freshmen year,
She was already going to be a senior.
I made the freshmen volleyball team,
She made the varsity.
I remember staying after school,
Just to watch the varsity practice,
And Thinking to myself how awesome She was,
And how I would do anything to be just like Her.
Or, at least get to know Her.
I continued to see Her throughout the season,
She really never noticed me.
I thought She was the coolest person ever,
Still do.
She’s the one who gives me my encouragement,
Where ever I go and whatever I do.
The only thing I know about Her,
Is Her name, but that’s ok,
Because She made me realize so much more,
She means so much more…..
She’s my role model,
And She always will be.
